Our Opportunity

Work Location: Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people. 

 

Roster: 8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth

 

Fortescue is seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Advisor to support the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of our Health and Safety Management System at Iron Bridge. You will work closely with operational leadership to embed safety practices, support risk reduction programs, and build a strong, sustainable safety culture. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive safety professional to make a meaningful impact on operational safety performance in a dynamic mining environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct quality data analysis to identify safety trends and assist leadership in setting safety priorities
  • Mentor and coach operational teams to foster a proactive and resilient safety culture
  • Contribute to the development of tools and materials that support the implementation of Fortescue’s Health and Safety Management System
  • Support site risk and change management processes
  • Drive and implement safety initiatives aimed at enhancing organisational culture and performance
  • Assist with contractor onboarding and participate in assurance activities

Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field
  • Practical experience in health and safety within mining or similar high-risk environments
  • ICAM (or similar) and Lead Auditor qualifications; strong understanding of WHS legislation
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse safety data, identify trends, and produce insightful reports
  • Experience in safety-focused coaching, mentoring, and operational engagement
  • Project management experience and additional qualifications in hygiene or injury management (highly regarded)
