Mining Engineer - Decarb
Work Location: Perth - Fortescue's Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people.
Roster: 5D2X - Monday to Friday
We are seeking a highly motivated Mining Engineer to become a part of our Perth based planning team.
This role will be primarily responsible for supporting the execution of Fortescue;s mine decarbonisation infrastructure projects. Completing designs, ground disturbance approvals and connecting stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure designs, including power corridors, substation pads, roads, access tracks and other decarb related designs
- Fully integrating decarb infrastructure designs into the current mine layout
- Management of all clearing and ground disturbing approvals
- Bringing together multiple workgroups including the Decarb Project team, Mining Operations and Mine Services to execute the decarb infrastructure plan on schedule
- Develop decarb infrastructure design standards and procedures
- Assisting the Medium Term Planning team with related pit and waste dump designs as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or related qualification will be considered
- Demonstrated experience in open pit design
- Effectively communicate/present with a wide range of stakeholders with varying technical knowledge to convey technical detail, risks and opportunities
- Practical approach to engineering and design problems
- Computer proficiency (Excel, MS Office, Vulcan, Alastri software (Haul Infinity, ATS, APS) is preferred)
