Our Opportunity

 

Work Location: Perth. Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

 

Roster: Monday – Friday

 

Help lead the development and enhancement of Health and Safety management systems, ensuring consistent risk management at Fortescue. Support process owners in creating performance standards, assurance activities, and training while providing expert guidance on health and safety best practices. Additionally, they will oversee and report on the execution of the Health and Safety audit schedule, contributing to the organization's safety and digital transformation efforts.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Providing expertise and leadership in the development, management, and ongoing enhancement of Group Health and Safety management systems, processes, and frameworks.
  • Identifying and leading initiatives to establish documented systems and processes that enable the organisation to effectively manage health and safety risks consistently.  
  • Supporting process owners in developing performance standards and effective assurance activities, documentation and training for their processes.
  • Delivering subject matter expert support to leaders on health and safety guidelines and assurance best practices.
  • Establishing the annual Health and Safety audit and assurance schedule through a collaborative and risk-informed methodology.
  • Oversee, coordinate, and provide reports on the execution of the Health and Safety audit and assurance schedule.
  • Providing support and input to the HSEC Digital Transformation leadership team as required.

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Tertiary qualification in Health and Safety or related discipline
  • Significant, demonstratable experience in designing, embedding and improving health and safety management systems and frameworks, preferably in a large business.
  • Experience in leading improvement activities in large businesses.
  • Deep knowledge of assurance principles with experience in design and implementation of assurance programs, preferably within health and safety.
  • Demonstrated experience in auditing management systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and influence stakeholders across a large scope to achieve results.
  • Sound computer literacy and effective verbal and written communication.
  • Qualified lead auditor (desirable)
  • Professional risk management qualification (desirable)
