Position: Quality Coordinator

 

 

Work Location: Perth based

 

 

Roster: Mon to Fri (4-hour workday)

 

 

Fortescue are presently looking for an experienced Quality Coordinator to join Project Delivery & Readiness team on permanent part time basis.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Actively support the implementation and alignment to the quality function value proposition and core value streams across the project’s portfolio and functional teams
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance the quality management framework in accordance with project/corporate requirements
  • Support the development, implementation and communication of quality performance reporting, analysis, and quality health status across the project’s portfolio
  • Support the development of various executive level papers and presentations
  • Support the monitoring of quality activities across project execution as per planned arrangements inclusive of schedule and budgets 
  • Support the management, review and response to contractor and supplier quality deliverables 
  • Facilitate project inductions and training in quality systems and processes to new and existing staff
  • Support project understanding and implementation of quality management framework, quality systems & processes
  • Provide direct project support for equipment inspection/surveillance activities (local and international)
  • Provide direct project support to execute quality verification plan activities (local and international)
  • Support planning and conducting of project quality audits and reporting in accordance with project and business unit requirements and progression of corrective actions through to close out 
  • Build and maintain a healthy working relationship with key stakeholders, sub teams and external interested parties (there will be required periods working during international time zones)
  • Contribute to communication forums with the client and/or supplier/subcontractor representatives 
  • Promote a positive quality culture and acceptance of the system amongst all project activity and staff
  • Support compliance with Fortescue's quality, health, safety and environment policies and procedures throughout all aspects of the operations to embed a zero-harm safety culture.

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Tertiary Engineering or Quality background would be desirable
  • Experience working in a Project setting in a support function like a Coordinator or PA/EA would be desirable
  • Minimum 3 years energy or resources sector experience
  • Minimum 1 years’ experience in a role of Quality Coordination role desirable
  • Experience providing quality management throughout design, procurement, construction, commissioning and start up.
  • Experience with inspection services coordination
  • Experience in Quality Management System procedural development
  • Understanding of project delivery methodology
  • Collaborating directly with contractors and supplier for the implementation and commitment to Quality requirements
  • Participation within continual improvement focused workshops and/or collaborative teams to improvement management system processes and application
  • Participation within internal and external Quality audits
  • Coordination of Quality captures, corrective action, and non-conformity records through to effective close out
  • Design, development and implementation of Quality performance metrics and reporting
  • High level of organisation required
  • Competent level written skills with excellent diligence
  • Initiative-taking engagement with stakeholders to embed Quality requirements and solutions
  • Prominent level of passion for renewable energy.
