Our Opportunity

Work Location: Eliwana - Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people.

 

Roster: 7D7N7R FIFO from Perth or Busselton

 

Reporting to the Mining Superintendent, our Eliwana operation is seeking a suitably qualified, highly experienced Mining Supervisor. Mining Supervisors are responsible for all aspects of Load & Haul functions of open pit mining operations. The role is focused around leading a team of committed people who share a vision of being the safest and most efficient Mining Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate strong safety values.
  • Lead mining operations and team members to ensure safe and productive operations.
  • Coach and develop team members and take accountability for the skills training matrix.
  • Conduct pit inspections.
  • Conduct field interactions and complete incident investigations.
  • Ensure that Mining achieves or exceed budget fleet utilisation and safety performance.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in the mining industry, with the ability to attain a schedule 26 supervisor appointment.
  • Strong leadership experience and ability to engage and empower large teams.
  • Experience in Autonomous Mining operations is highly desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Proven commitment to safety.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft office.
  • Strong understanding of efficiency drivers in a large-scale mining operation.
  • Experienced in Frontline management.
