Fortescue are presently looking for a highly experienced Cable Management Coordinator to provide supervision, leadership and technical support to the Cable management leadership team.

 

Reporting to the Mine Infrastructure Superintendent and liasing with the Mining and Mobile Maintenance Coordinators on all required cable movements to the 9400E excavator and other electric assets. Coordinate resources and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation of the 9400E excavator and HME in and around the operational area to ensure delivery of production targets. This will include attending mine planning meeting to include all cable routes are built into the two weekly mine plan and keep Minestar up to date with all operational changes that may accrue in breakdown situations.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Represent the Cable Management team & work cohesively with all internal & external stakeholders.
  • Direct and mentor assigned reports and manage leave and training requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and positive leadership to the team to drive department safety & efficiency
  • Work with Supervisors on job scoping, identify optimisation and efficiency opportunities
  • Work closely with Supervisors to align compliance to and prioritization of planned work
  • Work closely with Superintendent to develop and achieve budget and budget forecast expectations
  • Coordinate the delivery of operational improvement projects and minor capital works
  • Reliability Improvement - Ensure asset availability to meet/exceed department targets set by the business and play a leading role in the analysis of major failures and repeat down time events to drive improvements in both Operations, Planning and Project delivery
  • Coordinate closely with site mine planning teams to effectively plan priority cable work to achieve targets and ensure mine plan is met.
  • Coordinate closely with Decarb readiness team to review upcoming infrastructure designs.
  • Fulfil the role of the Solomon Mine Infrastructure Superintendent during periods of absence from site
  • Assist planning, scheduling and engineering teams by defining work priorities based on mine plan.
  • Encourage compliance to Zero Harm principles daily within the team

Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous HV Cable management experience
  • Previous experience with Electric excavators, shovels or drill rigs
  • Previous experience in a large mining operation
  • Previous experience working with mine planning teams
  • Competent understanding of mine designs, isolations and permitting systems
  • Experience in computer based maintenance systems
  • Strong commitment to health and safety
  • Strong coaching, mentoring and team building skills to maintain a good team culture Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • 3 yrs plus supervision experience
  • Knowledge of electrical regulation and incident management
