Work Location: We have opportunities based locally in Perth OR across Fortescue’s Pilbara locations

 

Roster: Monday to Friday – Perth-based OR 8D/6R or 4D/3R – FIFO ex Perth, Busselton, Broome, Karratha, Port Hedland, Fitzroy Crossing and Kununurra

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Develop, maintain and implement short and long term strategic mine plans
  • Analyse mine plan performance, compliance and efficiency and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with various support functions, including Geology, Drill & Blast, Geotechnical, Hydrogeology, Surface Water, Approvals and Heritage to enable timely achievement of milestones
  • Identify risks and opportunities, and implement tools and processes to drive mining efficiencies
  • Provide technical expertise and mentorship to site mine planning teams

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or related field
  • Previous experience in medium-term planning in a high production, mining environment 
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proficiency using excel and mine planning/scheduling software  
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders
