Work Location: We have opportunities based locally in Perth OR across Fortescue’s Pilbara locations

 

Roster: Monday to Friday – Perth-based OR 8D/6R or 4D/3R – FIFO ex Perth, Busselton, Broome, Karratha, Port Hedland, Fitzroy Crossing and Kununurra

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Generate daily, weekly and EOM reports/ data on operational functions
  • Engage with site teams on correct operation philosophy of process units to deliver optimum quality and throughput
  • Monitor plant performance and liaise closely with the Operations team to maximize product throughput and maintain product specification
  • Complete investigations and analysis on plant performance to identify process improvements and undertake/ recommend remedial actions
  • Liaise with the Quality team regarding feed blend to ROM to maximize product throughput and quality.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to metallurgical technicians to ensure accuracy of laboratory results and the safe, productive use of laboratory equipment
  • Contribute to projects, trials, and shutdown activities for optimizing OPF performance, while also overseeing the development and maintenance of Safe Work Instructions (SWI) and assisting in training programs for process unit operations
  • Support the Process Engineering team in the development of budgets and cost forecasts, collaborating with operational teams to create mine plans

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Tertiary Qualification in Engineering (Chemical, Metallurgical Engineering or related discipline)
  • Previous mineral processing industry experience 
  • Robust knowledge of dry and wet mineral processing Iron Ore unit operations preferred
  • High level of verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of computer literacy, proficiency with MS Office in particular Excel
  • Demonstrated experience with data analysis and reporting
  • Previous experience with SAP, delay accounting systems and SCADA highly desirable
