Location: Solomon 

 

Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.

 

Roster: 7D7N14R FIFO ex. Perth and Busselton 

 

Joining the field maintenance team, you will be responsible to carry out scheduled maintenance across the excavator fleet with, a high focus on safe work practices.

 

Fortescue’s Solomon excavator fleet are transitioning to electric as part of the 2030 decarbonisation journey, this provides an exciting opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Scheduled maintenance of diesel & electric excavators
  • Diagnostics & fault finding
  • Work in conjunction with all team members, ensuring teamwork across all crews
  • Ensure FMG and site operations procedures and policies are followed
  • High regard for safe and inclusive workplace.

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Australian Recognised Trade Certificate as a Heavy Duty (HD) Fitter or Diesel Mechanic for Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME)
  • Previous experience working in Mining
  • Excavator fleet experience is essential
  • Experience working on Liebherr R9250/ R9400/ R9400E/ 996B or CAT 6040 Excavators would be highly desirable
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety
  • Ability to effectively work in a team orientated environment.
