Our Opportunity

Work Location: Iron Bridge - Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.


Roster: 8D/6R, 7N/7R – FIFO ex Perth or DIDO Port Hedland


Critical to the success of Fortescue’s Iron Bridge. Mine Controller role is accountable for the effective utilisation of the Fleet Management System. Reporting to the Mine Control Supervisor, you will be critical to the success of Iron Bridge Operation and Fortescue’s Fleet Management Development

Key Responsibilities

  • Assistance with the execution of the 24 hour mine & maintenance plans
  • Maximise equipment productivity and efficiency by the accurate and timely reporting of maintenance issues
  • Evaluate continuously the data accuracy and integrity in the system
  • Interact with the system to monitor and record operation of equipment statuses
  • Monitor and action information provided by tyre management systems, weather applications and monitor the maintenance status of machines
  • Prioritising competing demands - phone, two way and in-office communication
  • Understand the correct procedures in case of critical failures in the system and associated applications
  • Ensure the integrity of the mine model (road network, locations, equipment etc.)
  • Minimise shift delays and normal maintenance delays (fuelling, operator change out)

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 1 year of experience as an operator in an open cut mining environment
  • Advanced computer literacy skills and a passion for Innovation and Technology
  • The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to multitask on several activities/priorities at the same time
  • Proficiency of Fleet Management System is advantageous but not essential
