Project Lead / Business Analyst - Technology Projects

Our Opportunity

Work Location:  Perth.  Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

Roster:  Monday to Friday

The Technology Business Analyst is responsible for bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions within Fortescue. This role involves analysing requirements, documenting processes, and collaborating with stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation. The Business Analyst will facilitate communication between technical teams and business units, ensuring that technology initiatives align with organisational goals. By leveraging data analysis and market research, the Technology Business Analyst will provide insights that drive informed decision making and enhance the effectiveness of technology solutions, ultimately delivering measurable value to the organisation. In addition to core responsibilities, this position will include some minor project lead work and coverage, allowing for a more dynamic engagement with both projects and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather and analyse business requirements alongside relevant data to provide actionable insights
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations, facilitating communication between business units and technical teams. Evaluate workflows to identify improvements and recommend efficiency solutions.

• Support testing with test cases and user acceptance testing, while providing training during implementation
• Assist in the design and development of technology solutions, ensuring they meet business requirements and comply to organisational standards
• Establish and monitor KPIs to assess technology effectiveness and drive improvement.

Qualifications and Experience

• +5 years’ experience in business analysis management, project management, or technology implementation within the mining, maintenance, or technology sectors.
• Demonstrated success in analysing business needs and delivering technology solutions that drive organisational value.
• Certification in Business Analysis Professional or Data Analytics, information technology, or a related field (highly desirable)
• Proficient in business analysis tools and methodologies, including requirements gathering and process mapping, with a focus on charter development and frameworks
• Proficient in change management, ensuring smooth transitions to new processes and systems.
