An opportunity has arisen for a Compliance Principal to join our Kidlington based Legal department in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Ethics and Compliance you will support the development, implementation and monitoring of the Fortescue Zero compliance program.

 

What you will do

 

Your operational duties are listed below. These are not exhaustive, and you may be required to carry out, from time-to-time, tasks in addition to these that are both reasonable and within your capabilities.

 

  • Implement and maintain the compliance framework and policies
  • Monitor regulatory developments
  • Conduct due diligence and risk assessments
  • Provide training and guidance on compliance matters to employees at various levels within the organisation
  • Collaborate with other functions to embed compliance as partner and an enabler for the business
  • Develop and maintain compliance analytics and reporting on key compliance topics which can be used at all levels of the business
  • Support investigations into compliance issues across a range of topics
  • Identify and implement process improvements to automate and enhance the compliance program
  • Develop and implement assurance activities related to policies and procedures compliance in Fortescue Zero
  • Create communications to raise awareness of compliance topics and support an ethical culture

About You

  • Considerable demonstrable experience in legal regulatory compliance, risk management and assurance
  • Knowledge and expertise in data protection, global trade, anti-bribery and corruption and failure to prevent
  • Ability to understand technology-driven businesses, communicate concisely, and influence effectively across a wide audience including regulators, Fortescue Zero leadership, engineering and product teams, and members of the key functions in the business
  • Flexibility and willingness to work with all levels of the organization, and to roll up your sleeves to get the job done
  • Strong negotiation and “ambassadorial” skills, which you will put to work both internally to foster a compliance culture throughout the organisation
  • Intellectually curious, open-minded, adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity and risk, and excited by dynamic change and solving problems
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously while prioritizing competing tasks
