Our Opportunity
The Principal Accountant will be primarily responsible for the financial reporting and controlling activities of the FFI Ionix business, based initially in Harrington, Delaware and from 2024 in Dover, Delaware. You will be part of a newly formed, dynamic and exciting team supporting the global energy transition as part of the electrolysers business for green hydrogen production. To be successful in this role, you will need to be a strong finance professional, quick but critical thinker, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform the month-end financial statement close (FSC) process for the FFI Ionix business
- Act as a strong business partner to the Production Leader, providing insightful driver-based analysis using inputs from various other functions
- Deliver robust and timely financial and management reporting to stakeholders, including provision of insightful analytical commentary
- Develop, monitor and analyze manufacturing financial KPIs, overhead allocation and burden rates, to ensure accurate recognition of production costs
- Collaborate with other departments to develop Bill of Materials and other standard costing frameworks
- Manage the quarterly and annual forecasting processes
- Ensure the accuracy of accounting in accordance with Group Accounting Policies under IFRS. Support annual statutory financial statements, acting as the primary focal point for statutory audits, as well as for the business unit’s annual and interim Group audits
- Design, implement and maintain an efficient system of internal controls over finance-related processes
- Continually identify and deliver finance process improvement initiatives, including ERP efficiencies
- Assist the wider Fortescue Hydrogen Systems team with ad hoc duties as required
- Actively promote a safe working environment
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 7 years’ business partnering and accounting experience, with manufacturing industry experience
- SAP experience preferred, including knowledge of PP, MM, FI and CO modules.
- Good understanding of IFRS. Ability to grasp complex accounting issues and communicate in a clear and concise manner.
- Understanding of US tax especially indirect taxes
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work within tight deadlines with a high degree of autonomy and flexibility
- CA or CPA qualified
- Supports the vision of FFI and can demonstrate alignment with our Values
