An opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Payable Officer to join the Finance department in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment.
About the role
The Accounts Payable (AP) Officer is responsible for ensuring the timely, accurate, and efficient processing of supplier invoices and payments. This role supports the finance department by maintaining strong internal controls, ensuring compliance with company policies, and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
What you will do
- Process supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable records in accordance with company policies.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Maintain orderly supplier ledgers, including, clearing up debit balances and netting of invoices with credit notes
- Communicate with suppliers/procurement team to resolve any issues related to payments or invoices.
- Manage the accounts payable email inbox and respond to inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Assist with supplier onboarding processes
- Provide support for other accounting and finance functions as needed such as documentation and reconciliation requests during external audits.
- Assist with any tasks required for leave cover of the Purchase Ledger Supervisor
- Support process improvement initiatives within the finance function.
About You
- Previous experience in accounts payable
- Strong understanding of AP principles and end-to-end processes
- Familiarity with the AP modules of large ERPs
- High level of accuracy, organisation, and attention to detail
- Intermediate MS Excel skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to establish strong working relationships with stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
