About the role

You will be involved throughout the lifecycle of the engineering projects, working closely with the Embedded, Product and Commercial teams to scope the project, create the JIRA project plan and ensure delivery on time.

This role is for anyone keen to start their career in technical project management in an agile deep tech start-up environment, with a focus on software development and deployment in an industry critical to a zero-carbon future.

The majority of the responsibilities will revolve around supporting the Embedded team to remove project management overhead required for ASPICE and allow the engineers to focus on technical value. This includes running agile ceremonies, chasing updates and keeping Jira tickets accurate, organising sprints, tracking resource, mitigating risks, tracking if work will be completed before the deadline.

The second half focuses on project management tools and data governance. The focus will be maintaining up to date resource forecasts in Worksavi with the wider PMO team, building automations and Power BI reports which connect data from JIRA. You will also develop admin level JIRA and Confluence knowledge with a view to support Elysia members on usage and developing automations to reduce admin overhead.

At every step you will be supported and empowered to make an impact. We are looking for someone excited to work with technical teams and customers to deliver exciting projects.

About you

  • You will be involved from the early stages of setting up new projects to maintaining the team plan with input from team leads. You will take meeting minutes, identify resource gaps, track KPIs and budgets, adapt to changes in priority and support Principal Engineers to ensure we deliver high quality solutions and on time.
  • Engage with stakeholders to develop a clear view of business requirements and manage the tasks which implement the requirements. Integrate plan baselines, identify dependencies between projects, resource constrains and minimise the impact of delays.
  • Project data management - maintain Jira tickets and resource forecasting tools such as Worksavi. Ensure data is accurate and consistent, with clear accountability for who maintains what. Leverage automations to maintain project data with minimum admin overhead.
  • Project management tools improvement. Use admin level jira and confluence knowledge to build new automations, maintain our project management processes, build advanced automated Power BI reports with data from Worksavi and Jira.
  • Develop new processes and continuously improve the effectiveness of existing ones. Contribute to the overall governance and help make sure teams are following them.
  • Identify and escalate risks. Maintain the risk register, work with the technical leads to mitigate or even eliminate risks before they can impact the project.
  • Be involved in fault management and resolution. Work with Application Engineers to fix customer issues in a timely manner.
  • Prepare data for Portfolio reports, KPIs, tracking project status, timing, issues and risks.

Experience & Qualifications:

Our team values a growth mindset over an expansive CV. We encourage you to apply if you have some or all the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a STEM field (Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or similar) or equivalent experience
  • Experience coordinating projects in a fast-paced technical/engineering environment.
  • Atlassian proficiency. Experienced using modern software project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Scriptrunner programming for planning, automation, reporting and chasing an advantage. Experience using Structure.Gantt or Databases an advantage. Office tools are not used for project management.
  • Well organised person with strong problem-solving skills.
  • An awareness of agile methodologies and automotive standards is preferred such as ASPICE.
  • Great communication skills: confidently able to chase internal and external stakeholders for information and keep them accountable to deadlines.
  • Able to build and sustain positive relationships.
