Position: Manager Green Equipment – Decarbonisation
Location: Morocco based
Duration: 18 months initially
Roster: Mon to Fri
The Green Equipment Manager for Fortescue’s Decarb Advisory services in Morocco will manage the in-country delivery of decarbonization energy projects, while building out the Moroccan delivery team with a mix of local, international and existing-Fortescue experience.
The role will have responsibility to deploy zero-carbon emission equipment outcomes with third party clients, while embedding Fortescue Battery Power systems within the solution set. This will include a range of equipment transition projects for renewable powered equipment, and deployment of dynamic energy management solutions (proprietary software and operating practices) for coordination of operational demand response levers.
This role requires a dynamic leader with extensive experience in project management, renewable, Heavy Mining or Industrial equipment, and understanding of emergent decarbonization technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Building out a Moroccan based energy advisory team with depth in energy transition and heavy equipment
- Managing external relationships for end-to-end delivery of high-quality third-party engagements
- Managing a high-performing team within Solutions/Green Equipment, including providing team coaching, feedback, development
- Being commercially oriented with prioritization and recommendations on green energy transition options for third parties
- Helping to build an in-country reputation for Fortescue and the local team for pragmatic, results-oriented decarbonisation advice
- Providing insight and inputs for Fortescue Zero (design, manufacturing and supply) on green equipment requirements with fact-based inputs from Moroccan deployment
- Helping management to capture ongoing revenue opportunities in the area of Decarbonisation and Green Equipment.
Qualifications and Experience
- Post-graduate degree in relevant area (e.g. Engineering, Technology, Environmental Science)
- 10+ years plus working in the area of Energy Transition, Green Equipment, Heavy Mining or Heavy Industrial equipment (across multiple equipment classes)
- 7+ years managing large teams to successfully deliver complex projects
- Worked within regulatory environments in Mining or Industrial operations, or large projects in Morocco
- Excellent range of stakeholder management skills including Senior Management level
- Proactive and self-motivated, with a drive for excellence
- Results driven, responsible and accountable
- Skilled in rapid problem solving.
