The Project Manager (PM) - Decarb Equipment Transition for Fortescue’s Decarb Advisory services in Morocco will jointly advise and manage the in-country delivery and deployment of Green Equipment (including Trucks, Shovels, Graders, Loaders, Dozers, and Ancillary Equipment) while building out Moroccan delivery use cases with a mix of local, international and existing-Fortescue experienced support staff.
Key Responsibilities

The PM role will have a responsibility to work with a client team, OEMs and contractors to deploy zero-carbon emission equipment with 3rd party clients via specifically defined project milestones, outcomes and KPIs – across mining, processing and logistics. This will likely also involve embedding Fortescue Battery Power systems, Mining demand response systems, and AHS within the solution set (proprietary Fortescue software and operating practices)

This role requires a dynamic project manager with material experience in project planning and execution across heavy mining or logistics equipment, zero-carbon emission technologies, and asset building – including a firm understanding of levers to optimize team performance, delivery schedules, logistics, cost and managing risks to ensure robust quality outcomes

- Ideation - Retaining and coaching project team members in green equipment operations and projects for 3rd parties, with a focus on building Fortescue skillsets in Green Equipment transition and related systems
- Develop project expertise in the delivery and operation of zero-carbon emission equipment including staying abreast with emerging technologies and improvement opportunities
- Build an understanding of zero-carbon emissions equipment technology including building relationship with OEMs to enable cost-effective green operations
- Manage delivery of project contractual commitments (particularly milestones) for Decarbonization, incorporating Fortescue’s suite of Decarbonization solutions, software and operating systems
- Actively support any requests for inputs into additional advisory with existing or new in-country or in-region customers
- Work collaboratively and constructively with other Fortescue project teams to ensure robust understanding of decarb solutions offers, testing of emergent green technology, and to ensure solution opportunities are delivered. This could include collaboration with Fortescue R&D teams to pilot and scale innovative solutions within green equipment projects
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in relevant area (e.g. Engineering, Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Design, Renewables)
- Professional training or qualifications in multiple elements across effective project delivery (e.g. PRINCE, PMO skills, Negotiations, Advanced Analytics/AI, people leadership)
- 5+ years plus working in projects or operations related to Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) (incl. Trucks, Shovels, Graders, Loaders, Dozers, and Ancillary Equipment)
- 2+ years managing teams to successfully deliver or operate relevant HME
- Understanding on energy transition technology and performance parameters
- Robust understanding of HME operations
- Broad understanding of heavy industry operations and performance levers including relative performance trade offs
- Commercial decision-making modelling skills including equipment Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), Energy Modelling, Valuations, Cashflow Forecasts and Business Cases
- Empathetic project leadership
- Commercial inputs for zero-carbon emission equipment
- End-to-end Project Planning and Execution
- Cross-functional engagement and alignment
- Technical mining equipment capabilities
