The Superintendent Exploratory Mine Maintenance for Fortescue’s Decarb Advisory services in Morocco will support the in-country delivery of green mining maintenance projects including implementing a Time Usage Model, using their knowledge of Fortescue’s best in class mining maintenance to provide specialist advice and guidance and design strategies that support the goal of decarbonising the customers operations, while they commission and ramp up the exploratory mine 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

 

 

  • In this role, the Superintendent Exploratory Mine Maintenance work directly with local working teams and client managers. They will provide specialised advice and recommendations on how to:
  • Implement Industry standard Work Management process, manage conformance to 6 step maintenance system (Identify, Plan, Schedule, Execute, Complete, Analyse)
  • Deploy revised Maintenance strategy in Exploratory Mine – including definition of what works will be performed in-house vs outsourced to OEM or contractor
  • Define and drive suitable stock levels of service kits and spare parts - including rotable and reparable cores - and integrate with SAP/Warehouse
  • Design optimization of spare parts processes 
  • Develop training for maintenance of any new equipment classes, models and/or technologies (green HME)
  •  Assess and mitigate maintenance delivery risks
  • Perform analysis to optimize maintenance and create improvement
  • Working closely with Fortescue’s Green Mining Manager and operational Project Managers, the Superintendent Exploratory Mine Maintenance will be instrumental in establishing and overseeing the establishment and ramp up of maintenance processes of an Exploratory Mine in Morocco within the next 12-18 months. This will involve guiding client’s line managers and support staff through the setup and management of the mine including ensure trained and competent mechanical and electrical maintainers and engineers in place, ensuring that it operates in line with Fortescue's high operational standards. By applying Fortescue’s proven methodologies and technologies, the superintendent will help improve performance outcomes, delivering high levels of productivity and environmental performance to match Fortescue’s world-renowned benchmarks.
  • The role also involves collaborating with client teams to define project milestones, establish clear outcomes, and set key performance indicators (KPIs) to build operations skills, and to measure the success of the decarbonisation efforts. Superintendent Exploratory Mine Maintenance will be responsible for ensuring these targets are met while guiding client teams and managers through the challenges of adopting and implementing green operations practices and technologies.
  • The Superintendent Exploratory Mine Maintenance will be crucial in helping clients in Morocco achieve their sustainability, decarbonisation and growth goals, bringing Fortescue's expertise to the forefront of the global mining industry and demonstrating leadership in green mining innovation.

 

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Degree in relevant area (e.g. Engineering, Mining Engineering)
  • 10+ years working in Mining t Maintenance or Projects including capital projects, maintenance and reliability, change management
  • 7+ years experience in previous senior mining maintenance leadership roles 
  • Thorough understanding of mine safety 
  • Proven track record in supervising and leading maintenance people 
  • Collaboratively interacting with Mining Operations and Maintenance
  • Cross-functional engagement and alignment
  • Clear communication and problem-solving skills
  • Passion for driving meaningful change
  • Ongoing desire to learn and embrace stretch targets
