Seeking Expression of Interests 

 

Location: Kidlington, Oxfordshire 

 

Roster: Monday to Friday, WFH options available but 3 days in the office as a minimum 

 

The Strategy Manager plays a pivotal role in developing and executing strategic initiatives that drive business growth and improve operational efficiency. 

 

To lead and deliver all aspects of Strategy across Fortescue Zero:
1.    Collaborate with senior management to define long-term business objectives and develop strategies to achieve them.
2.    Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of strategic initiatives through performance metrics and KPIs.
3.    Lead and manage cross-functional teams to implement strategic projects and initiatives.
4.    Develop actionable recommendations to improve business performance and drive strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Strong leadership, oversight and support to guide the priorities and strategic direction of the strategy function.
  • Develop and oversee market trends, competitive landscape, and internal competencies across the business units.
  • Support the SLT in decision-making processes by providing relevant data, insights, and strategic options.
  • Oversee and guide the analyse and assess strategic rationale of FZ commercial partnerships with external companies.
  • Develop potential inorganic growth opportunities for the FZ business which have strong strategic rationale.
  • Provide senior leadership reporting at program and group levels, and to CEOs and Board as required depending on value and risk profile
  • Lead and mentor junior team members, fostering career growth and professional development

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in strategy development, management consulting, business analysis, or a related field.
  • Ideally a strategy consulting background - likely to senior EM level, AP or Junior Partner
  • Manufacturing or automotive industry experience (either in consulting, industry, or both) would be highly advantageous
  • A passion to drive green technology/ decarbonisation forwards

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, financial modelling, and strategic planning tools.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and familiarity with data visualization tools.
