Mining Trainer & Assessor
Our Opportunity
Work Location: Solomon - Fortescue’s Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.
Roster: 8D/6R, 7N/7R – FIFO ex Perth
During this exciting time at Fortescue, with innovation projects changing the way we work in mining as we move to decarbonise our operations, we are currently seeking a qualified Trainer and Assessor with substantial Mining experience to join our team. This position will provide the Training and Assessing requirements to our Mining and associated Production teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivery Mining Operations Training and Assessing
- Delivery of FMG Specific Training and Assessments including Verification of Competency Assessments
- Facilitation of classroom-based Training and Inductions
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and work without supervision
- Well organised and excellent time management skills with strong attention to details skills
- Hands on approach to teamwork, positive attitude and superior customer service skills are essential
- Administrative and scheduling duties as required
Qualifications and Experience
- Current Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment 40116
- Previous relevant Heavy Mobile Equipment experience
- Sound knowledge and understanding of Mining practices and technical systems with the ability to train content in a professional manner
- Autonomous Haulage System experience (preferred but not essential)
- Experienced Operator on the following equipment is preferable
- Production Excavators
- Production Loaders
- Dozers
- Graders
- Mechanical / Electric Haul trucks
- Support Ancillary Equipment
- Intermediate/Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite
- Success Factors LMS experience highly regarded
