Work Location: Eliwana Mine Site. Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people.
Roster: 8D/6R, 7N/7R - FIFO ex Perth

We have several opportunities in the Operational Readiness team for Autonomous Haulage System Field Builders, reporting to the Supervisor AHS Infield Builder.
The AHS Field Builder role is critical to the success of Fortescue’s Eliwana Mine as we transition to an AHS operation. To continue supporting our rapidly developing Fleet Management System and cutting-edge Autonomous Haulage solution, we are currently seeking people who are committed to advancing their career as an Autonomous Field builder.
Key Responsibilities
- Effectively support the management of an autonomous truck fleet to maximise utilization of machines ensuring safety, productivity, and cost targets are met.
- Manage and maintain the virtual mine model to ensure efficient execution of the daily mine plan and ensure accurate reflection of the physical mining environment.
- Utilizing data driven optimisation projects, implement strategies for efficiency improvements to streamline processes and enhance operational outcomes.
- Liaise with multiple stakeholders from various departments, ensuring clear, effective communication to align on goals and address any issues.
- Act as the eyes on the ground for autonomous machinery, monitoring performance, troubleshooting problems, and ensuring seamless integration with manned operations.
- Risk assessing, prioritising and multitasking across competing priorities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated operational experience in a mining environment (Highly desirable)
- Fleet Management Systems experience
- Keen interest in technology, automation and continuous improvement
- Strong organisational skills to accommodate multiple competing productivity priorities
- Strong understanding of Mining Production requirements
- Current WA manual driver’s licence
- Preferred skills but not essential;
- Previous experience as an In-Field Builder
- Previous experience in the use of Autonomous Mining Systems
- Previous experience in fleet optimisation
- Ability to work autonomously and be self-motivated
