Work Location: Fortescue’s Perth CBD office located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: Monday to Friday (flexible hours, with childcare creche available in the Perth office).

The Asset Health Lead - Strategy role will be working within the Perth-based Asset Health team. The primary mission of the role is to provide strategic guidance on asset health technologies and indicators. This includes guiding how these technologies should be integrated into processes that drive cost-effective business outcomes. This role will cover both existing and future asset-health programs and will focus on driving outcomes such as improving asset availability, reducing production downtimes, improving safety and reducing costs. All of Fortescue’s supported asset classes and stakeholder groups will be covered, including Heavy Mobile Equipment, Rail, Fixed Plant/Ore Processing Facilities and Energy Operations. This role will also be integral in defining the Asset Health pathway for future green assets that are key to achieving our Real Zero emissions target by 2030. A high level of experience in Asset Health (or related reliability and/or condition-based maintenance) is expected. This role will work across a broad stakeholder group and require close collaboration with the various technical specialists who support, and implement, the different asset-health programs across the business. This role will require a high level of stakeholder engagement, collaboration and communication skills, including at a leadership level.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the overarching asset health standard document
- Define standard asset health indicators and monitor compliance of adoption
- Define standard threat responses, risk management and actions arising from specific health indicators
- Develop new, and help improve existing, business processes that utilise asset health data
- Oversee and monitor the effectiveness of Fortescue’s asset health programs
- Provide input into prioritisation and business cases for new asset health data and technologies
- Provide input into the Asset Health Long-term Strategic Development Roadmap
Qualifications and Experience
- Broad exposure to Asset Health technologies and adopting processes - preferably across a broad range of assets, industries including site-based exposure. (preferred)
- A good understanding of large business priorities and the ability to articulate and deliver business value.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Asset management, engineering, maintenance or reliability experience in the mining or heavy industry sector (preferred)
- Engineering degree or Mechanical or Electrical Trade (preferred)
- A commitment to safety, quality and sustainability
