Asset Maintenance Specialist - Electrical Reliability (12 month Fixed Term)
Our Opportunity
Work Location: Fortescue Centre - Perth
Roster: Monday to Friday
This opportunity is available on a 12 month secondment.
As a key member of Fortescue’s Asset Management fixed plant team, you will ensure that Fortescue’s Decarbonisation and Mine Services assets under your jurisdiction are managed to the optimal cost, performance, and risk outcomes over their lifecycle. As the organisation’s central technical subject matter expert (SME) in Electrical Engineering Reliability, you will leverage your extensive operational experience with these assets to provide technical support, continuous improvement, and assurance functions to both site based and central teams.
You will utilise your strong interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with engineering and maintenance teams across operations that enable you to deliver best-for-business outcomes across Fortescue’s Decarbonisation and Mine Services asset base.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead development and review of maintenance strategies for decarbonisation electrical assets such as battery chargers, High Voltage etc
- Develop and review critical work instructions, check sheets, maintenance work instructions etc
- Collaborate with Long Term Planning to develop asset budget forecasting models in alignment with lifecycles expectations for each asset type
- Define, develop, and deliver engineering solutions to optimise whole of life cost and asset performance
- Provide technical expertise to support the business in resolution of challenging faults and issues
- Provide ongoing and enabling technical support to Projects, Operational Readiness, Procurement
- Assist site operational teams in recovery and investigation of major downtime events
- Provide guidance and governance on best practice processes and systems to manage Fortescue fixed plant assets in your assigned category
- Provide governance on requested changes to inventory levels for high value components
- Explore process, equipment, and engineering opportunities to reduce risk exposures
- Engage and maintain strong relationships with site teams through regular site visits and interactions
Qualifications and Experience
- Extensive operational experience and equipment technical expertise working with complex electrical systems and electrical assets
- Reliability Engineering background
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
- 5+ years operational experience with heavy industry fixed plant assets preferably as senior engineer level +
- Well-developed interpersonal, facilitation and presentation skills with the ability to engage and influence at all levels
- Knowledge of CMMS systems (SAP preferred)
