Auto Electrician

 

Roster: 7 days, 7 nights, 14 off – FIFO ex. Perth and Busselton 

 

Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people, located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, 90 kilometres west of Tom Price. With Solomon mine, Eliwana forms Fortescue’s Western Hub providing a standalone and complimentary product with Fortescue’s Chichester Hub.  

 

Roster:  7 days, 7 nights, 14 off – FIFO ex. Perth and Busselton  

 

The Role:  

 

You will be required to carry out the safe execution of scheduled maintenance and repair to a range of large-scale mining equipment supporting Fortescue's mining operations with particular focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.

Fortescue recently unveiled its roadmap to becoming the world’s first heavy industry company to go green by 2030, aiming to eliminate fossil fuel use and achieve real zero emissions (scope 1 and 2) across our iron ore operations. Eliwana will be the first operation in Fortescue and the world to shift to green iron operations.  

Key Responsibilities

​​​​​​​

  • Willingness to learn new disciplines and skills to ensure the incoming Green Fleet transition has a Maintenance team with a ‘Never Ever Give Up’ attitude and capability to grow with new technology   

  • Diagnostics & fault finding  

  • Workshop and pit duties as required  

  • Work in conjunction with all mobile maintenance teams to achieve 100% schedule compliance  

  • Ensure FMG and site operations procedures and policies are followed  

  • Adapting to new technologies   

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • ​​​​​​​Trade Certificate as an Automotive Electrician 
  • Hold a current C class license (HR preferable)
  • High level of safety awareness and orientation
  • Mobile plant experience is essential with Electric HME experience and exposure desirable  
  • Experience with OEM diagnostic tooling 
  • Experience using suite of Microsoft programs and applications such as (Excel, word, PowerPoint etc.)
