Our Opportunity

 

Location: Eliwana/Flying Fish, Pilbara region, Western Australia (90 km west of Tom Price), on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people.

 

Roster: 7 days, 7 nights, 14 off – FIFO from Perth and Busselton.

 

Join Fortescue’s Eliwana maintenance operation as an AMS (Autonomous Mining System) Technician. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of our connected assets that use our Fortescue cutting edge technology Fortex. You’ll ensure that these technologies operate smoothly and efficiently, aligning with best practice maintenance strategies to support our mining operations.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Install and configure hardware, electrical, and network technology systems on various Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) assets.
  • Calibrate and commission GPS, AHS, and fleet systems on various HME and Light Vehicle (LV) assets.
  • Optimise the setup of the fleet management system to maximise fleet efficiency and meet Mine Plan requirements.
  • Perform in-depth fault diagnosis and repairs on multiple technology products including Fortex and Flanders.

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Trade qualification as an Auto Electrician, Automotive HD Fitter, or in Communications Technology.
  • Experience in a heavy mobile mining environment with related technology.
  • Experience with Autonomous Fleet management products.
  • Experience with Caterpillar and Liebherr Mining equipment.
  • Experience with Flanders technology products (preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics and technical specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
