Work Location: Cloudbreak - Fortescue’s Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.

 

 

Roster: 8 days on, 6 days off, 7 nights on, 7 days off FIFO ex Perth

 

 

12-Month fixed term contract or secondment 

 

 

Reporting to the site-based Supervisor, this Technician will join the HaulX Deployment Team at Cloudbreak on an 8:6 or 7:7 roster. The role involves completing the installations of the HaulX products at a site level, utilising an understanding of mobile autonomy and other mining technology systems, and working under the guidance of HaulX Product Specialists.

 

 

The Autonomous Technician will be responsible for installing the HaulX Vehicle Awareness System and the Machine Guidance System on various asset types. Where required, the Technician will also assist the Specialists with calibration and commissioning, developing the foundational knowledge necessary to understand and maintain the HaulX products

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Delivering a safe working environment and safe execution of installs during the HaulX Deployment
  • Installing the HaulX Vehicle Awareness System and Machine Guidance System on various asset types
  • Assist with commissioning of the HaulX Vehicle Awareness System and Machine Guidance System
  • Efficiently communicate work scope to leadership and colleagues during handovers
  • Represent Fortescue values by upholding the standard of work, equipment care and personal work ethic.

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Minimum trade qualification in mechanical, electrical or network disciplines.
  • Minimum 4 years working in an Automotive Electrician, Mechanical fitter, communications or similar heavy mobile equipment role.
  • 3 years’ experience with fleet management, autonomous control systems or similar, within a mining technology site support role highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Global Positioning Technology, WIFI/LTE Networking Principles, CAN and Serial systems.
  • Able methodically fault find systems & apply root cause analysis
  • Knowledge and understanding of the regulations and procedures governing Fortescue’s autonomous operations and maintenance activities.
  • In-depth understanding of installing, calibrating, and commissioning Mining technology Systems.
  • Able to diagnose and fault find logically, using a range of tools and resources available.
  • Able to diagnose faults and articulate the problem/solution.
  • Ability to undertake all tasks with the correct level of risk assessment to complete the task safely.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Able to use SAP, BMS and other Fortescue systems efficiently.
