Our Opportunity
Location: Iron Bridge is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.
Roster: 8D6R FIFO from Perth
Fortescue is seeking experienced Blast Crew Operators to join our Drill & Blast team at the Iron Bridge Operations. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high-performing crew.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate behaviour aligned with Fortescue’s values and commitment to Zero Harm.
- Achieve daily production targets safely and efficiently.
- Operate blast crew equipment and vehicles in accordance with procedures and safety protocols.
- Maintain a high standard of Drill & Blast pattern preparation.
- Ensure all equipment is operated and maintained in a safe working condition.
- Follow instructions from the Drill & Blast Supervisory Team.
- Actively contribute to team performance and continuous improvement of operational outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a blast crew role
- Current WA Driver’s Licence
- Hold a Dangerous Goods Security Card (DGSC)
- Experience operating stemming loaders
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive attitude towards safety and teamwork
- Basic computer literacy
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Experience with electronic blasting equipment (desirable, not essential)
