Our Opportunity

Work Location: Perth – Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar nation.

Roster: Monday to Friday

 

The Senior Business Analyst will play a critical role in identifying business needs, analysing systems, and ensuring solutions align with business goals. They will work closely with various stakeholders, both business and technical, to define requirements, design solutions, and implement strategies that drive efficiency and effectiveness across the organization.

This role will help with providing direction to other business analysts, collaborate with stakeholders and provide expert insights to guide decision making at high-level.

The Senior Business analyst conducts in-depth analysis of business operations, identifies pain points, opportunities for improvement and aligns business needs with system requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee business analysis activities on projects, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
  • Mentor and guide junior business analysts, assign tasks, reviewing work and fostering team collaborations.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate analysis results, insights, and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide expertise during the implementation of new systems, ensuring they align with business processes and objectives.
  • Lead interviews, workshops and surveys to elicit detailed business requirements from stakeholders.
  • Assessing business needs by conducting analysis of business operations.
  • Develop and evaluate potential solutions to address business needs including feasibility assessment, cost-benefit analysis and project scope definition.
  • Managing key stakeholders, effectively communicate findings and recommendations to diverse stakeholders including senior management, technical teams and end-users.
  • Support the transition to new systems or processes by providing training and documentation.
  • Design, document and maintain business process diagrams & Requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Computer Science, Business or similar field (desirable).
  • 10+ years of work experience in a Business Analyst role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Experience in conducting requirement gathering workshops and gap analysis.
  • Experience in developing Business analysis documents using relevant tools such as JIRA, Confluence.
  • Experience in providing product strategy decision making.
  • Experience of working in Agile teams and knowledge of Scrum Ceremonies.
  • Proficient in business analysis methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, UML, BPMN).
  • Strong Analytical skills.
  • Understanding of business operations, financial metrics and industry trends.
  • Capability to build relationships and manage expectations with diverse stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving and conflict-resolution ability.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle.
