Our Opportunity
Location: Christmas Creek - Fortescue’s Christmas Creek mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli peoples.
Roster: 7D/7N/14R or 7D/7N/7R FIFO ex Perth, Busselton, Port Hedland, Broome, Karratha (Select your roster preference during application)

As a Cable Handling Operator, you will report to the Cable Management Supervisor and work with a skilled team to install and manage high-voltage (HV) trailing cables safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate cable equipment, loaders, trucks, and support machinery for efficient cable management.
- Assist with dewatering and high-voltage electrical team coordination.
- Execute cable run plans, including signage, protective arches, and road covers.
- Communicate cable layouts clearly to the team and ensure safe practices.
- Perform equipment inspections and safety checks.
- Manage cable crossings and protection during blasting activities.
- Handle and store cable drums correctly.
- Conduct pre-start checks and ensure all equipment is maintained.
Qualifications and Experience
- Current Australian Manual Driver’s Licence.
- HR Licence (preferred).
- Experience operating excavators, loaders, or dewatering equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in small teams.
- Familiarity with WHS 2022 regulations and safety processes.
- Excellent communication, planning, and logistics skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, BMS & SuccessFactors.
- Ability to read and understand mine plans.
