An opportunity to join the growing world of Operations within Fortescue’s Corporate, Labour and Technology team, you will work with high value supply contracts in a fast paced and dynamic environment. Reporting to the Principal Category Management you will have exposure to a wide range of agreements as well as helping to progress category opportunities.

The role will support the contract administration of Fortescue’s Corporate Services category and will require engaging with multiple stakeholders to track and implement procurement processes. The successful candidate will need to be self-motivated and familiar with key contract management tools such as SAP and iValua.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working proactively as part of a procurement team focused on providing exceptional customer service to deliver commercial support to the business through an understanding and application of these core competencies. 
  • Contract management - developing and applying processes, procedures, systems, and knowledge to ensure optimum commercial benefit and minimal commercial risk. 
  • Supplier relationship management - deliver value through effective management of strategic supplier relationships.  
  • Category management and strategic sourcing – provide support in building appropriate category strategies that are aligned with Fortescue business objectives and manage the end-to-end sourcing process for allocated projects. 
  • Negotiating – applying an effective process and an understanding of each party’s position to engage with suppliers. 
  • Governance and risk management - ensure business objectives are met through effective governance, compliance management and the identification, assessment, and treatment of risk.  
  • Analysis & reporting - effective analysis and reporting of relevant data at all stages of the procurement lifecycle.  
  • Business partnering and commercial acumen - create and maintain credible and trusting relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure full alignment of procurement effort with business needs and opportunities. 

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Law or similar is desirable. 
  • The candidate will have strong communication skills and adopt a methodical approach to work, whilst succinctly reporting on progress.
  • Conversant with SAP materials management and iValua contract management is preferred.
  • Understand MS Office applications and MS Excel.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and efficiently manage priorities.
  • Demonstrate an alignment to all of Fortescue’s values. 
  • Effectively self-manage with an ability to efficiently manage priorities. 
  • Show that you are driven to build a career in Procurement.
