Roster: Monday to Friday
The Category Specialist - Processing plays a key role within the Plant Processing category team, working collaboratively with operations and maintenance teams while providing specialist procurement and commercial advice on Fortescue's iron ore processing categories.
This role will include the development of category strategies and implementation of strategic procurement activities across several processing and fixed plant categories - including process chemicals, grinding media, screening and magnetic separation.
The Category Specialist - Processing will also play a critical role in managing supply chain risks to support the efficient ramp-up of the Iron Bridge magnetite project.
Key Responsibilities
- Category Management - develop and maintain category / contracting strategies to align with Fortescue business objectives.
- Strategic Sourcing - manage the end-to-end sourcing and procurement process in accordance with Fortescue’s policies.
- Contract Management - ensure performance and cost outcomes are achieved under Fortescue’s key processing contracts (including KPI, rise & fall and claims management).
- Supplier Relationship Management - deliver value, and mitigate business risks, through effective management of key supplier relationships.
- Negotiation – applying an effective negotiation process and an understanding of each party’s position to engage with suppliers on high risk and/or high value contracts.
- Governance and Risk Management - ensure business objectives are met through effective governance, compliance management and the identification, assessment, and treatment of risk.
- Analysis & Reporting - effective analysis and reporting of relevant data at all stages of the procurement lifecycle.
- Partnering - create and maintain credible and trusting relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure full alignment of procurement effort with business needs and opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated alignment to all of Fortescue’s values.
- Significant commercial or resource sector experience, preferably in a contracts and procurement/supply chain team.
- Effective writing skills and attention to detail (e.g. drafting concise recommendations, contract conditions, contract correspondence and variations).
- Self-management skills with an ability to efficiently manage priorities.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills.
