Our Opportunity

 

Work Location:  Perth.  Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.

 

Roster:  Monday to Friday

 

As a Category Management Specialist in the High Voltage and Spares portfolio, you will play a lead role in managing agreements for Fortescue’s end-to-end operations. This will involve liaising with internal and external stakeholders to optimise commercial arrangements and deliver value in the maintenance of generation, transmission and distribution assets. You will assist in the development of strategies to ensure a seamless transition in the decarbonisation of Fortescue’s energy portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Managing agreements to optimise commercial benefit and balance commercial risk.
  • Liaising with maintenance industry proponents, managing the relationship and developing expertise.
  • Create strategies to enable Fortescue’s decarbonisation transition in electricity.
  • Foster collaborative supplier relationships for the mutual benefit of Fortescue and our contracting partners.
  • Support, communicate and contribute to Contracts & Procurement initiatives with the internal customer groups.
  • Undertake contract administration including negotiations, award or change recommendations and oversee due diligence.
  • Provide contract life-cycle support for all contractual and commercial activities.
  • Ensure business objectives are met through effective governance, compliance management and the identification, assessment, and treatment of risk.

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Extensive commercial or resource sector experience in energy procurement and contract management will be well regarded. 
  • Effective written and communication skills to draft contracts, recommendations, advice and approval documents.
  • Strong influencing, stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to effectively operate within the governance and compliance frameworks of a large organisation.
  • Demonstrable self-management and performance capabilities with a high level of resilience to challenging circumstances.
  • Proven analytical skills.  
  • Ability to manage multiple work packages and interface with internal customers.
  • Experience in ERP systems.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, commerce or engineering related fields.
