Senior Compliance Engineer
Our Opportunity
Location: Chichester Hub, located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.
Roster: 4/3 – FIFO ex Perth
We are seeking an experienced Senior Compliance Engineer with a strong background in Lifting Equipment and other Registerable Plant to join our team at the Chichester Hub. You will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and compliance of registerable plant and equipment across the site, in alignment with applicable legislation and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the compliance management of registerable and non-registerable plant under the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and WHS Regulations 2022.
- Provide expert oversight and compliance leadership across various equipment types, including but not limited to:
- Lifting equipment: monorails, bridge/gantry cranes, davit/jib cranes, workboxes, 4-post hoists, vehicle loading cranes, gravity take-up winches.
- Pressure equipment: accumulators, air receivers, air cannons, air oil separators, heat exchangers, pressure relief valves.
- Itinerant plant: mobile cranes, elevated work platforms, compressors.
- Storage tanks and other relevant plant.
- Manage in-service inspection programs, coordinating internal and third-party inspectors.
- Develop and maintain maintenance and inspection strategies aligned with legislation, industry standards, and internal procedures.
- Support internal and external audits to ensure alignment with asset integrity and compliance standards.
- Assist in developing remediation scopes and technical input for CAPEX/OPEX planning.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or equivalent), with extensive experience working with Lifting Equipment and Registerable Plant.
- Strong understanding of relevant Australian and international standards, including AS 1200, AS 3788, AS 4343, AS 3992, AS 2550, and API 653 (essential).
- In-service inspection certifications such as AICIP or API (desirable).
- Knowledge of Risk-Based Inspection methodologies (API 580) (desirable).
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint) (essential).
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A proactive safety mindset and the ability to influence compliance culture across site operations.
