Conveyor Supervisor
Our Opportunity
Location: Christmas Creek, located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people.
Roster: 14 days on, 14 days off - FIFO ex Perth, Broome, Karratha or Port Hedland.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Conveyor Supervisor to join our Mechanical Maintenance team at Christmas Creek. Reporting to the Technical Coordinator, you will lead and mentor a team of Belt Technicians and contractors to deliver world-class conveyor reliability and availability. You will be a key driver in promoting safety, operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise Conveyor crews with a high commitment to safety and operational excellence.
- Oversee belt maintenance, repair, belt splicing, cleaner maintenance and pulley lagging activities.
- Manage belt change-outs, roller handling and associated QA/QC documentation.
- Drive improvements by developing wear management systems and monitoring maintenance strategies.
- Maintain PDS (Plant Data System) data integrity for belts and rollers, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Liaise with OEMs and suppliers to enhance conveyor reliability and system availability.
- Provide training, mentoring, and ongoing technical support for maintenance personnel and contractors.
- Lead conveyor maintenance activities during shutdowns, ensuring safe and efficient delivery.
Qualifications and Experience
- Extensive experience in belt maintenance, repair, and change-outs within a heavy industry environment.
- Supervisory experience with a proven ability to lead teams and drive performance under pressure.
- Certificate III or IV in Polymer Technology (preferred but not essential).
- Strong understanding of maintenance strategies for large-scale continuous processing plants.
- Proficient in computerised maintenance management systems such as SAP and PDS.
- High attention to detail with strong organisational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and computer communication skills.
- Commitment to safety, continuous improvement and team-oriented collaboration.
