Our Opportunity

 

Work Location:  Hedland Operations. Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people. This role is located at the Anderson Point offices.

 

Roster: The roster is 4/3 FIFO ex. Perth as agreed by management; or 4/3 residential

 

This exciting opportunity involves coordinating a team of electrical project specialists, while managing the Engineering Electrical Project Port Folio at our Port Operations facility. We are looking for a candidate with extensive leadership, project management and electrical industry experience.

 

Reporting to the Engineering Port Projects Superintendent, the Electrical Project Coordinator is responsible for assigning projects to the project specialists while holding them accountable to Fortescue’s project framework throughout planning and execution. This role also contributes to maintaining the Port facilities Ten Year Capital Plan and attends relevant leadership and shutdown meetings. Working closely with our Maintenance and Operations team to ensure all project deliverables are ascertained and met. 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Coordinate a team of project specialists, Graduates, Undergraduates and Vacation Students
  • Allocate projects to team members
  • Ensure adherence to Shutdown Readiness
  • Ensure adherence to Project Framework
  • Approve SAP notifications and attend weekly planning meetings
  • Manage work order backlog
  • Attend all shutdown interface meetings (planning and execution)
  • Ensure projects align correctly with shut windows and durations
  • Identify improvement projects
  • Build, track and reforecast project budgets with cost controllers
  • Facilitate monthly electrical and process control system interface meetings

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Extensive and demonstrated experience in Mining/Heavy Industrial environment
  • Demonstrated experience in Project Management
  • Experience directly supervising a team
  • Bachelor or Masters in Electrical Engineering, or Trade qualification
  • Section 26 (preferred)
  • Competency in SAP (preferred)
  • Microsoft Office Suite - Excel, Project, Word, Power Point (Essential)
  • Good leadership skills with ability to positively influence people to achieve their targets
