Our Opportunity

 

Work Location: Iron Bridge - Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.

 

Roster: 8D/6R – FIFO ex Perth or DIDO Port Hedland (Wednesdays)

 

Reporting to the Mining Superintendent, you will be responsible for supporting contractor teams across the Iron Bridge mine site. You will provide operational and safety leadership across the mining, mobile maintenance and mine support functions.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Provide guidance and leadership to contractor teams at Iron Bridge.
  • Oversee maintenance activities with a focus on safety leadership.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of work packages for the Mine Support contractor.
  • Oversee the execution of Mine Support activities including road maintenance and general earthworks tasks.
  • Coordinate multiple work fronts and manage job requests from various site teams.
  • Provide expertise to the Fortescue leadership teams.
  • Assist the Quarry Manager/ Superintendent with the management of mining, maintenance and mine support activities.

 

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Demonstrated leadership experience with a positive attitude to safe work.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance practices - trade background advantageous.
  • Extensive knowledge of safe systems of work.
  • Experience with earthworks or equipment operation will be highly regarded.
  • Previous experience in contractor management desirable.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to influence others is essential.
