Work Location: Perth – Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people. Ad hoc domestic and/or international travel may be required.

 

 

Roster: Monday to Friday

 

 

12-Month Fixed Term Contract

 

 

Sitting within Fortescue’s External Communications function, this Senior Manager leads a team playing a strategic role for Fortescue’s executive leadership across Metals, Growth and the Fortescue Board of Directors.

 

 

The team is responsible for external communications deliverables including global conferences, award submissions, event sponsorships and is a shared service across the Fortescue Group. 

 

 

This role will develop and support the implementation of an effective external communications strategy, working closely with the Fortescue Metals and Global Growth media, brand and internal communications functions.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Take a strategic role for Fortescue’s executive leadership across Metals, Growth and the Fortescue Board of Directors
  • Support and develop the skillset of team members
  • Manage Fortescue’s corporate events
  • Proactively drive the unique company culture within Fortescue through creative and innovative communications material
  • Support the management of the Fortescue Corporate Communications budget
  • Manage Fortescue’s corporate representation at Australian and international conferences, presentations, and forums
  • Lead the development of support and materials for conferences, presentations, and forums
  • Support the strategy for Fortescue’s key event sponsorship opportunities in Australia and globally
  • Protect and promote the Company’s external profile and reputation, aligned with the Corporate Communications team
  • Provide media and investor support and guidance relevant to events and conferences.

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • University degree in relevant discipline
  • 15+ years industry experience
  • Experience managing a brands presence at global events and conferences
  • Experience in corporate event management
  • Experience in leading communications function for projects and/or teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships within teams and with leaders to provide valuable communications support
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build collaborative working relationships at all levels
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of the requirements and standards for an ASX listed company.
