Work Location: Perth – Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people

 

 

Roster: Monday - Friday

 

 

Fortescue is seeking applicants to join our Corporate Development team across a variety of roles including Principal, Lead and Manager, a group integral to driving growth across both the Metals and Energy business sectors.

 

In this position, you will work closely with the General Manager of Corporate Development to support the identification, pursuit, and negotiation of a range of strategic transactions, including acquisitions, joint ventures, and partnerships. Additionally, you will contribute to critical commercial initiatives, leveraging strategic insight, negotiation expertise, and rigorous analysis to support key business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Coordinate with a diverse range of internal stakeholders to perform comprehensive commercial analysis, due diligence, and risk assessments that inform and support strategic decision-making throughout negotiation processes
  • Analyze financial valuations and related data to accurately assess the value and risk profile of potential transactions
  • Prepare and deliver investment recommendation papers to the Investment Committee and CEO, clearly articulating key insights and strategic rationale
  • Oversee the execution of transactions and financial close processes, ensuring compliance with internal approval frameworks and collaborating closely with Legal, Finance, and other relevant functions
  • Facilitate the successful integration of acquisitions by partnering with cross-functional teams and support departments.

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • 6+ years experience in corporate development, commercial, strategy, consulting or similar fast paced environments, preferably in energy, infrastructure, resources or heavy industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce, business, finance, law or related field
  • Ability to synthesise complex issues and prepare high quality materials to support decision making
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills and strong financial and commercial acumen
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build strong external and internal relationships and influence key stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes
