Our Opportunity

 

Location: Christmas Creek

 

  • Fortescue’s Christmas Creek mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people.

 

Roster:7D7R dayshift only FIFO from Perth or Busselton

 

Reporting to the Water Services Electrical Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and repairs of the dewatering network electrical equipment across site. This equipment includes the diesel generators, MIRI radio telemetry units, flowmeters, variable speed drives and electric bore pumps. The dewatering network is critical to dewater mine pits and provide raw water supply to end users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Scoping continuous improvement opportunities
  • Routine electrical servicing, maintenance, and repairs of VSDs, bore pumps, diesel generators, MIRIs and instrumentation
  • Raising notifications and work orders
  • Preventative maintenance whilst prioritising breakdowns to ensure minimal downtime
  • Diagnostics and fault finding
  • Statutory testing and inspections

Qualifications and Experience

  • Electrical trade qualification
  • Current WA 'A' class electrical workers licence
  • High voltage ticket and experience with HV Switching
  • Previous experience as electrical tradesperson or Electrical / Instrumentation Technician in a continuous operating plant environment (2 years preferred maintenance, as it is for an experienced position)
  • Experience in PLC systems and control communication systems
  • Cert IV in Instrumentation
  • Experience in the maintenance and troubleshooting of Variable Speed Drives
  • Competent understanding of electrical schematics, isolation and permitting systems
  • Experience in computer-based maintenance systems - SAP (desirable)
