Our Opportunity

 

Work Location: Fortescue’s Christmas Creek mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people.

 

Roster: 7D7R  or 14D14R - FIFO Ex Perth, Karratha, Broome

 

Reporting to the Water Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, maintenance and repairs of the water asset equipment across Chichester. This equipment includes the centrifugal pumps, portable generators, submersible pumps, isolation, and control valves. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Routine servicing, maintenance, and breakdown repairs on the fleet of generators and diesel pumps
  • Interpretation of technical manuals and parts lists
  • Priorities and attend breakdowns to ensure minimal downtime
  • Diagnostics and fault finding
  • Inspection and maintenance of Multistage Bore Pumps, Centrifugal Pumps, fire pumps and Isolation and controls valves

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diesel trade background in either Light/ Heavy vehicle trade as majority of work is diesel powered gensets or pumps
  • Self-motivated and ability to work in a strong team environment as well as individually
  • Strong organizational and communication skills both verbal and written
  • Demonstrate strong safety values
  • Experience with Fortescue’s computer-based systems (BMS, SAP)
  • HR drivers’ license, forklift, CN, rigging or dogging tickets preferable
