Our Opportunity

Work Location: Eliwana - Fortescue’s Eliwana mine is located on the traditional lands of the Puutu Kunti Kurrama people.

 

Roster: 4D/3R – FIFO ex Perth

 

Fortescue is currently seeking a suitably experienced Drill and Blast Efficiency Coach to join our Eliwana team. Reporting to the Drill and Blast Superintendent, this position will be responsible for overseeing the efficiency of drill and blast activities and personnel, ensuring mine safety and production targets are optimised.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the optimisation of all drill and blast operations, ensuring a safe workplace is maintained.
  • Provide ongoing training, coaching and mentoring to drill and blast team.
  • Drive drilling and blasting techniques and procedures that promote zero harm and improve performance and cost efficiencies.
  • Identifying and analysing key performance metrics to pinpoint areas for improvement, aligning with our organizational goals.
  • Conduct trials on Drill and Blast equipment & GET and analysis results for the most optimum solution

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant Driller experience and/or WA Shot firing tickets.
  • Current and valid WA C-Class (manual) driver’s licence.
  • Strong experience in mining, drill and blast and the ability to read and understand mine plans.
  • Knowledge of the Mine Regs Act and a strong commitment to safety.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships at all levels.
