Drilling Supervisor
Our Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated individual to join the Belinga Project team as the Drilling Supervisor.
Position would be hired in Australia (Perth) and you would be seconded across to the operations in Gabon.
The Belinga Project is located in the Republic of Gabon, Central Africa, and is potentially one of the world’s largest undeveloped, high-grade hematite deposits. Ivindo Iron, the Joint Venture between Fortescue Metals Group and the Africa Transformation and Industrialization Fund (ATIF), will evaluate and look to develop the Belinga Project.
Position: Drilling Supervisor
Expat Roster: Travelling from Australia (4 weeks on : 2 weeks off)
Work Location: Belinga Project, Gabon, Africa
Key Responsibilities
- Providing strong leadership to ensure that minimum compliance standards are met while building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders
- Promote the safe and efficient operation of drilling rigs, associated equipment and personnel
- Ensure that all work areas, machinery, and work groups are audited regularly, addressing any gaps or non-compliances
- Assist and advise both Client and Contractor site Management on all drilling related safety and compliance related matters
- Assist in investigation of incidents onsite
- Conduct pre-mobilisation inspections of drilling plant and equipment
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance drilling personnel's understanding of safety procedures and emergency protocols
Qualifications and Experience
• Proven experience in drilling safety, particularly on exploration RC and Diamond drilling programmes
• Strong understanding of drilling equipment, procedures, and safety protocols
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and influence positive change.
• Health, Safety and Training qualifications desirable
