Work Location: Fortescue’s Chichester Hub is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.


Roster: 7D7R FIFO EX Perth, Broome, Port Hedland, Karratha or Busselton

 

The Chichester Water Management team will be experiencing growth and looking to build up their already high performing teams throughout 2025. Upon successful application as a Dewatering Mechanical Fitter you will report to the Water Maintenance Supervisor, and be responsible for the day-to-day operations, maintenance and repairs of the water asset equipment across Cloudbreak. This equipment includes Heavy Diesel generators, Heavy Diesel driven transfer pond pump, Saline Reinjection units and in-pit dewatering pumps supporting the mine Water Management Operations. Experienced Fitters are required to conduct inspections and repairs on multistage submersible pumps, completing daily refueling of Water Management assets when required.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Routine servicing, maintenance, and breakdown repairs on the fleet of generators and diesel pumps
  • Priorities and attend breakdowns to ensure minimal downtime
  • Diagnostics and fault finding
  • Inspection and maintenance of Multistage Bore Pumps, Centrifugal Pumps, fire pumps and Isolation and controls valves

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Diesel trade background in either Light/ Heavy vehicle trade as majority of work is diesel powered gensets or pumps
  • Self-motivated and ability to work in a strong team environment as well as individually
  • Strong organizational and communication skills both verbal and written
  • Demonstrate strong safety values
  • Experience with Fortescue’s computer-based systems (BMS, SAP)
  • HR drivers’ license, forklift, CN, rigging or dogging tickets preferable
