*6 month Fixed Term Trainee Program*
Work Location: Perth – Integrated Operations Centre (HIVE). Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: 4 days/4 nights /8 off rolling roster, Perth based - 12 hour shifts. Some site travel will be required.
Reporting to HIVE Operations Training Superintendent and Control team leadership, the Hive Trainee Controller will undertake approximately 3 weeks of site-specific training during a 6-month fixed term training program. The site time will be intermittent with the time spent in the Hive control rooms for learning consolidation. There are opportunities for both mine controller and fixed plant controller roles, and the training plan and site time are dependent on the various role requirements.
The Hive Trainee Controller roles require completion of all necessary competencies on site and in the Hive to effectively utilise relevant systems during execution of daily plans and targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Strict adherence to all Fortescue safety procedures, standard work instructions and Lifesaving Choices
- Meet all control room responsibilities as outlined during the program
- Complete all assigned curricula and mine site training
- Maximise equipment productivity by executing the daily shift plan utilising systems relevant to your role to achieve company targets
- Understand the correct procedures in case of critical failures in the system and associated applications
- Conduct oneself in accordance with Fortescue’s Code of Conduct and Values at all times
About You
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Year 10 completion as a minimum
- Advanced computer literacy skills and a passion for Innovation and Technology
- Positive attitude towards safety at all times
- An ability to task-switch and prioritise multiple activities
- Demonstrate or implement strategies that promote a positive and inclusive team culture
