Electrical Engineer
Our Opportunity
Work Location: Iron Bridge - Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal People.
Roster: 8D6R - FIFO ex Perth
We are an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team and play a vital role in powering the future of mining operations. Reporting to the Senior Electrical Engineer, this position will suit an Electrical Engineer experienced within a fixed plant ore processing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the OPF and CHF plants are electrically operational to achieve reliable throughput
- Provide technical support to all plant faults and break down events
- Work closely with Operations and Maintenance teams on breakdowns by providing specialist technical support
- Liaise with Operations and Maintenance teams to identify and implement improvement opportunities
- Perform root cause analysis and mitigate reoccurrence of breakdown
- Manage small to medium size projects and overlook project delivery
- Monitor Asset Management KPI's, identify gaps in performance and recommend actions to resolve
Qualifications and Experience
- Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience preferably in Fixed Plant Ore Processing
- Proven experience with leading root cause analysis investigations
- Detailed knowledge of principles and concepts related to operating and maintaining Fixed Plant and HV reticulation assets
- Previous experience with VSDs, protection relays and power system analysis
- Experience working with control systems, switchgear, instrumentation, HV/LV motors, variable speed drives, protection relays and PLC's
- Demonstrated competency in the use of SAP
