Electrical Engineer

Roster: 8D 6R FIFO ex Perth
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Fortescue’s Iron Bridge Engineering team for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join on a 5 – 6 month secondment. This role offers the chance to contribute to a world-class operation, supporting production reliability and driving performance improvements across electrical systems and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults to reduce downtime and improve productivity.
- Analyse downtime reports and shift handovers to identify recurring issues and implement improvement opportunities.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and drive Defect Elimination initiatives through Fortescue’s change management process.
- Provide specialist electrical engineering support to operations, maintenance, and shutdown teams.
- Manage and deliver small to medium-sized electrical projects, ensuring compliance with all relevant mining safety standards and regulations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent tertiary qualification) in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Electrical Engineer, preferably within Fixed Plant Ore Processing environments.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting and leading Root Cause Analysis investigations.
- Working knowledge and experience with Variable Speed Drives (VSDs), protection relays, and power system analysis.
- Proficiency in SAP and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to continual improvement and operational excellence.
- Sound understanding of Western Australian Mines legislation and regulations.
