You’ll take ownership of designing and implementing robust electrical safety systems across the enterprise—ensuring standards such as Isolation and Permit to Work are practical, effective, and aligned with real-world operational needs. Partnering with regulators and internal stakeholders, you’ll drive compliance while embedding a proactive, high-performance safety culture at every level of the organisation.

 

From influencing strategy to getting hands-on in the field, this role offers the perfect mix of big-picture thinking and practical action—with regular site travel ensuring your work is deeply embedded across all levels of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead central ownership and governance of Isolation, Permit to Work, and related safety systems.
  • Serve as the main contact for regulatory electrical inspectors, managing compliance and inspections.
  • Act as Secretariat for the Electrical Safety Working Group and support the launch of the Isolation Working Group.
  • Coach and collaborate with electrical subject matter experts and risk owners to drive safety alignment.
  • Own critical systems and processes, including Isolation and Permit to Work procedures, InteliPermit platform, and Digital High-Risk Certificates.
  • Facilitate audits, design reviews, and provide technical oversight to ensure compliance.
  • Promote electrical safety through training initiatives, compliance monitoring, and cultivating a safety-first culture.
  • Comfortable with regular site visits to operational locations.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent.
  • 10+ years in electrical engineering or a related role, with strong expertise in safety governance and risk management.
  • Proven experience working with regulatory bodies and managing safety compliance.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and coach diverse teams.
  • Extensive electrical engineering experience essential, with a proven track record of leading electrical safety initiatives in complex industrial environments
  • Deep knowledge of regulatory compliance and risk management
