Instrumentation/Electrical Tradesperson


Work Location: Christmas Creek,  Chichester Hub

 

  • Fortescue’s Chichester hub is located on the traditional lands of the Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.
  • Fortescue’s Christmas Creek mine is located on the traditional lands of the Nyiyaparli people.


Roster:  7D/7N/14R – FIFO ex Perth or Busselton

 

Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor at Christmas Creek, you will be responsible for providing quality and timely preventative maintenance and repairs of the Ore Processing Facility in alignment with FMG specific procedures and WHS regulations.  This shall also include team involvement with shutdown execution, continuous improvement, apprentice mentoring, and providing any assistance on upcoming projects.


 

Key Responsibilities

  • Scoping continuous improvement opportunities
  • Raising notifications and work orders in SAP
  • Breakdown and fault finding on Fixed Plant
  • Preventative maintenance on Fixed Plant
  • Modular and shutdown maintenance
  • Electrical statutory testing and inspections
  • Proven High voltage switching experience
  • Use of computer-based systems; S4Hannah, Microsoft Teams, Success factors, Fiori, BMS, PIMs, PDF Pro, Trello, Microsoft office programs etc.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Electrical trade qualification
  • Current WA 'A' class electrical workers licence
  • High voltage ticket and experience with HV Switching
  • Previous experience as electrical tradesperson or Electrical / Instrumentation Technician in a continuous operating plant environment (2 years preferred maintenance, as it is for an experienced position)
  • Experience in PLC systems and control communication systems
  • Basic instrumentation experience
  • Experience in the maintenance and troubleshooting of Variable Speed Drives
  • Competent understanding of electrical schematics, isolation and permitting systems
  • Experience in computer-based maintenance systems - SAP (desirable)
