Our Opportunity

Work Location: Fortescue’s Cloudbreak mine is located on the traditional lands of thee Palyku and Nyiyaparli peoples.

 

Roster: 7D7R or 14D14R – FIFO ex Perth (Friday fly out)

 

Fortescue is currently seeking an experienced Electrician to join our Infrastructure team at Cloudbreak on a 7:7 roster. 

 

Infrastructure Services maintains assets across the entire mine site operation and camp facilities including but not limited to: Accommodation buildings, offices, workshops, MAL Laboratories, fuel storage facilities, waste and potable water treatment plants.
This position is responsible to deliver safe, high quality and compliant Electrical repair work, maintenance, installations and inspections as required by the Infrastructure Services team. It would be desirable that the candidate has experience with PLC and Instrumentation.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Scoping continuous improvement opportunities
  • Raising notifications and work orders
  • Breakdown and planned maintenance around mine and village
  • Use of SAP to create notifications and work orders
  • Coach, mentor and develop apprentices
  • Statutory testing and inspections

Qualifications and Experience

  • Certificate III Electrical trade qualification (A Grade Electrical Licence) and WA Electrical Licence
  • Electrical install licence issued by Electrical License Board
  • High voltage ticket and experience with HV Switching
  • Previous experience as electrical tradesperson or Electrical / Instrumentation Technician in a continuous operating plant environment (2 years preferred maintenance, as it is for an experienced position)
  • Experience in fault finding & diagnostics on instrumentation & PLC systems 
  • Competent understanding of electrical schematics, isolation and permitting systems
  • Experience in computer-based maintenance systems - SAP (desirable)
