Reporting to the Electrical Maintenance Supervisor – the Fire Systems Electrician will be responsible to deliver safe, high quality maintenance work as required to the Infrastructure Services team.  The successful execution of this work will be paramount in the site achieving safety and production targets.  Infrastructure Services Maintains assets across the entire mine site operations and camp facilities including, but not limited to accommodation buildings, offices, workshops, wastewater treatment plants and the ore processing facility fire assets.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • High safety focus and risk perception at all times
  • Carry out planned and breakdown repairs around mine and village
  • Use of SAP to create notifications, close out work orders and time confirmations
  • Actively participate in daily, toolbox and safety meetings
  • Comply with company procedures, policies, and lifesaving choices at all times
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments prior to undertaking tasks
  • Report all hazards and incidents within the workplace
  • Coach, mentor and develop apprentices to become high quality tradespeople

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

 

  • Cert III Electrical qualification (A Grade Electrical Licence)
  • Electrical install license issued by Electrical license board
  • Current West Australian unrestricted electrical license
  • Senior first aid / CPR / LVR
  • Relevant experience in mining or heavy industry
  • Experience with small light and power installations
  • Experience with control panel fault finding/repair
  • Experience with all facets of statutory testing requirements
  • A working knowledge of electrical statutory obligations including requirements of following relevant electrical Australian
  • Standards including AS3000
  • Experience with fault finding & diagnostics on instrumentation & PLCs
  • Experience working in Hazardous Areas & inspections on HA equipment (desirable)
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and SAP operating system
  • Cert IV instrumentation (desirable)
  • Hazardous Areas (desirable)
  • WA Class C Driver’s Licence
  • Effective communication & interpersonal skills; including report writing
  • Ability to time manage, organise & prioritise workload
  • Flexibility to work across a wide range of refrigeration disciplines
  • Competent in reading technical manuals/plans/schematics
  • Sound problem solving skills
